I had the pleasure of working with their foundation to fund some (web) projects my company was developing in the late 90s. Andrea was our guest once, and she was a truly warm, engaging and intelligent woman. Their generosity was vital to our success, and they appreciated our vision in a way that is hard to understand. It could be argued that sites like this one would not be what they are today without Andrea's leadership.

May her loved ones be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

I just went to her funeral (they are members of my shul). Lovely, heartfelt messages from family and friends. They are a warm and resilient bunch, her loved-ones. The place was packed: I'm sure her husband felt the outpouring of compassion and grief.

My heart is broken... How could something like this happen? There are no words that could possibly describe my feelings... Mr. Bronfman I offer you and your family my condolences

What awful news - I recognized Ms. Bronfman's face right away from the photo. She and her husband gave a speech to my Birthright group, right near the Kotel. I only remember bits and pieces but it was a very moving experience, and her passion for Birthright and its purpose was evident. She must have been a remarkable woman - my condolences to the Bronfman family on her passing.

I am so sorry to hear this :( As someone whose life was dramatically and irrevocably changed by Birthright, I can never possibly hope to repay her and their organization for the good they have done for me.

Terrible news. I'm sorry to hear this. Condolences to the family, and may they continue to gain strength from the larger Jewish community to which they've been so committed.

I didn't cry until I saw her photo. Then I lost it. What light coming out of that face. Thank G-d it was just an awful accident; nobody meant harm. The driver was questioned and released. She will be buried in Jerusalem on the Mt. of Olives. Gil Troy just wrote a particularly wonderful memoir of her. What a loss.

The Birthright Israel program is pure genius and a critical tool to ensuring future of the Jewish community. May it continue to flourish as a testament to Andrea Bronfman and her devotion to her people.

ok, every time I try to post my little comment in the post itself, the post disappears, so

My deepest condolences. It’s a sad day for the Jewish people, we’ve lost a great woman. May her legacy and her works continue to inspire others.

The Bronfmans are an exemplary Jewish family who stayed involved and concerned about the community and Israel and we are deeply saddened by this tragedy and wish them well and we should only know of simchas and Yiddishe nahcas.
