Nahum Gutman’s “Cafe on the Promenade.” Gutman was a painter, often of landscapes, though not always, whose paintings evoke charm and naivete. The warmth and innocence of the place and the people in it often shines through in his works and he illustrated children’s books before and after the creation of the state of Israel.
