Matisyahu’s Festival of Light

Mattisyahu 2007Matisyahu has announced his Second Annual Festival of Light Celebration shows in New York. He will be performing starting Dec. 4th at the Roseland Ballroom with an assortment of special guests. We caught Matisyahu’s show and his tricked out new band a few times this summer. Wow. Performing with a massive backdrop of Ir Hakodesh Yerushalayim behind them, this unreal percussionist, dazzling lights, and a sound man from the early Dub scene in Kingston, they played over fifty shows this summer. Huge outdoor crowds loved it, and the show in Santa Cruz at the Catalyst created energy and excitement I still feel today. So if you are on the East Coast, it’s not too early to plan for the first nights of Chanukah. And you might think its a bit early to tell you’ all about it. But I don’t want any Jewlicious.com readers to miss out. FYI the Santa Cruz show was sold out weeks ahead of time and SC is a small shtetl compared to NYC. Maybe we’ll figure a way to head out over there…
