Too Much Taxi Driving In The Darkness Yields A Better Banai

Not to be outdone by Yuval or Boaz, the object of my Banai adoration is Evyatar, a sensitive, pensive singer-songwriter and a master of thoughtfully constructed lyrics pinned up against melodic, folksy arrangements.

Below is the English translation of the chorus for the song (“Dog Fight”) in the YouTube clip. It’s not nearly as poetic as the Hebrew version, but provides some context.

Driving a car, can’t remember the address
For so long in the darkness
The despair, the flesh, the pride
Big enemies I have cultivated

To light the sun with laughter, tears and with music
I’m arriving, I’m already there

Bonus points if you can identify the crying woman who enters the taxi in the end and her connection to Evyatar.

I heard a couple of Boaz Banai's songs on the radio and yesterday Galgalatz interviewed him. It was a boring and lame interview, but the music was good. By "good" I mean that I like it. Here's Boaz Banai's ...
