		<description>Richard Joel and his boards had the chance to show the community how a Torah observant, ethically inspired instituion handles a failure and confronts a budget shortfall and endowment loss.

The pain of the loss should have been and be shared and borne by the community of all employees.  I will not be surprised to learn that for some of these positions, they are using the budget shortfall as an expedient excuse to trim jobs.

It is sad when people who ask to be seen as role models trun out not to be able to make the difficult but necessary decisions</description>
