Yes i guess i am wrong on alot of that.I have not lived in NYC since 95.But in my defense i remeber all my mic friends in the 80’s complain about clinton square.I never heard anyone refer to it as LES, but i could be wrong.Just like the time i got into an arguement with a guy that said he was from brooklyn and never heard of DUMBO.This is for you Middle

Alphabet City is a small part of the Lower East Side and these days when people talk about the LES, they’re generally talking about below Houston St, which is where the heart of the historical LES was (and where most of what remains of the Jewish LES still is).

Yuppies are not called hipsters nowadays. They are totally different groups. Yuppies are young urban professionals–by definition they have high-paying jobs. The stereotypical hipster lives off a trust fund and eschews gainful employment for ironic artistic pursuits.

The “Clinton” moniker for Hell’s Kitchen goes back at least to the 1960s and hasn’t been popular for a while. Not too many folks use it these days.

What the hell CK is with all the LES stuff.It was and always will be Alphabet City to me.It was a sh*t hole that no one in nyc wanted to go to and we liked it that way.Just like Hells Kitchen in now Clinton Square.I HATE YUPPIES OR AS THEY ARE CALLED NOW DAYS HIPSTERS.Thats right run back to momy and daddies basement all you whinny self entitled 8 dollar coffee drinking brats.This concludes my rant for tonite.
