I once saw Jayne Seymour standing in line at the Willow theater when she was a little girl. I was just leaving the first showing of Barbarella that Saturday.

The Toronto Star is busy selling Halal chicken, even though there is no such thing in Islam (Islam, by the way means "I surrender") so it all seems to be Bait and Switch tactics.

The problem is, I really like the Talking Heads. I didn't realize Byrne is such a spaz.

And I'll never feel quite the same way about The Princess Bride again. But at least Vazini dies.

Earth to Shawn Wallace: I don't think that word means what you think it means.

I could give a rat's ass about Alice Walker and Jane Fonda, but I thought Glover had more sense. Maybe this is what happens when you make too many movies with Mel "Mad Dog" Gibson.

The Star's Middle East news reporting may be questionable, but they've consistently spoken out against boycotts and censorship when it comes to Israel.

[...] Well, that’s not exactly true now, is it? Greyson, who is one of the listed co-authors of the “protest” letter, did boycott the Festival and this letter is an attack on Israel’s very existence, not to mention every aspect of its society. This “protest” letter was formulated with the clear intention of twinning Israel with South Africa and of obscuring Israel’s legitimate and hard security needs with South African apartheid. To suggest that a letter which emphasizes (falsely as we’ve noted already) that Israeli society resembles apartheid which was eliminated by boycotting South Africa, is not about boycotting may show how clever Naomi Klein is in using a turn of phrase, but it doesn’t fool anybody. It certainly didn’t fool the Toronto Star. [...]
