Jerusalem Day 2010

Old Skool Vids from 1967

42 years ago, Jerusalem was reunited and Jews were once again allowed to worship at the Western Wall and other holy sites in the liberated Old City. While the future of Jerusalem seems more up in the air than ever before, we celebrated Jerusalem Day here in a number of ways. Kool and the Gang performed in front of 20,000 people in Gan Sachar at a party that went till 6 am. Yoram Gaon performed in the Old City at David’s Citadel. Taglit Birthright Israel celebrated its 10th anniversary at a Mega Event in Binyanei Haumah, the building where Jerusalem of Gold, Yerushalayim Shel Zahav, was first performed. It’s been quite a day, to say the least. Enjoy these videos from 1967 and see how this all started.
