Tel Aviv Beginnings

Tiroche Auction House is selling a 46 photo album of the photographs of Avraham Soskin. He’s the man behind the famous photo from 1909 of the division of lots in Ahuzat Bait, the first Jewish community outside of Jaffa and the first neighborhood in what was to become Tel Aviv. These 46 photos are worth a view!

    its interesting how ancient the hebrew is on the bottom. He writes in Rashi’s alphabet I believe and only uses Hebrew calendar dates
