A funny thing happened to Rob Cohen on his way to marrying Jill Lauren Leiderman. He found out that he has been legally married to comedian Janeane Garofalo for the past two decades. The two, who used to date when they both worked on “The Ben Stiller Show,” got married while both were very drunk at a drive through wedding chapel (I guess it was DWI) in Las Vegas, twenty years ago.
Cohen, a producer of “The Big Bang Theory” was arranging his wedding with Leiderman, a producer on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” when he was informed that the marriage was not a joke, and was real. Reality Bites! ( < -- the title of one of his films). Leiderman is granddaughter of Lillian & Al Leiderman of Great Neck.
The marriage was dissolved this week in Manhattan when the two comedy writers met in Midtown at a branch of TD Bank to have the divorce paperwork notarized.
