Well, actually, it’s not tonight, but it is coming up very soon – on Sunday, November 18th, to be exact. Our very own Jewlicious and JConnect are putting together a fundraising event, honoring Mayim Bialik, Barak Raviv and Shlomo Seidenfeld. The event will take place at Los Angeles nightclub, Avalon, a large venue in the heart of Hollywood with a more than decent sound system. Fun guaranteed.

When I did the radio show at IsraLA, and when I have given personal advice to friends and family members who have (and haven’t) asked for it, the question of where to go to meet Jewish singles always arises. I think it is important to broaden our horizons and engage in new activities. This event should be one filled with people outside of your immediate social circle, as it combines and unifies Jews from multiple places and various backgrounds. Stop complaining that there are no serious single Jewish men and no eligible single Jewish women, and get your tush to this event…and show your support for Jewish unity all at once.

While researching Behavioral Economics, I learned that our “weak-ties” tend to be stronger than our “strong-ties”, meaning that friends of friends can be a powerful and impacting tool, sometimes even more so than our closest friends and family members. So, as your weak-tie Jewlicious blogger, I would like to officially invite you to join me at Night of Unity.

Description:

“Undoubtedly one of the coolest benefit events in LA. There is nothing quite like it, because it’s a celebration of Jewish unity. In addition, enjoy world-class entertainers, comedy, casino, silent auction, and open bar w/ top-shelf drinks and LA’s finest gourmet food. We look forward to this spectacular evening when we take time to honor those people in our community who are doing so much for the sake of unity.”
