We are promoting a food aid org called Masbia
Brooklyn, NY — THURSDAY 11/1 – Masbia has been working triple time since Tuesday. With requests from the Park Slope Armory as well as several other shelters and organizations around the city, Masbia staff and volunteers are now preparing literally thousands of hot meals. Our phone is ringing off the hook, and we are doing our best to help feed all those in need, in addition to all of the hungry New Yorkers we feed on a regular basis.
We have been fortunate to have many volunteers to help us prepare food in our Flatbush location at 1372 Coney Island Avenue and we have also received donations from all over. However, we are still struggling to prepare enough meals to feed all of the people whose houses have been destroyed, and those without power from the Hurricane. Today, we bought thousands of dollars of food to prepare. We need more financial donations to cover these food costs and to buy more, to fill our truck with diesel fuel to make deliveries all over the city, and to pay our own rent, electricity, and our small but extremely hard working staff.
