MC Schumer Tells Inauguration, Let Them Eat Pie

MC Chuck Schumer, the Senator (NY-D) who is serving as the MC for the inauguration in Washington DC today has control over the lunch menu, and he is pushing pie, an apple pie made from two dozen ingredients from the State of New York. He and his wife, Iris Schumer, served as tasters for the menu. Paul Pelosi, husband of House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi; Diane Cantor, wife of House Republic leader Eric Cantor; and the sweet Honey Alexander, wife of Senator Lamar Alexander (TN-R) also aided in the tastings. The menu, in addition to NY wines and cheesy apple pies, includes bison. Seventy sous chefs and preparers, under the direction of Design Cuisine’s Chef Shannon Shaffer will cook the meals.
